Beechams Max Strength Lemon Honey Sore Throat Lozenges include two active ingredients, hexylresorcinol and benzalkonium chloride. Benzalkonium chloride, an antiseptic and disinfectant, kills bacteria which can trigger a sore throat. Hexylresorcinol, an antiseptic, has local anaesthetic properties that dull throat discomfort.

When can't I take Beechams Sore Throat Lemon Honey Lozenges?
You can't take Beechams Sore Throat Lozenges if you are below seven years old, are sensitive to the lozenge ingredients, or have:
- Intolerance to fructose.
- Sucrase-isomaltase shortage.
- Glucose-galactose malabsorption.
How do I take Beechams Sore Throat Relief Lemon Honey Lozenges?
If you or your child is aged seven or above, suck one lozenge so it dissolves gradually in your mouth and repeat the dose every three hours (or as necessary).
If you're an adult or child aged 12 or above, do not exceed eight lozenges in a 24-hour period.
Children between seven and 12 should not exceed four lozenges in 24 hours.
If your symptoms don't improve within three days, contact your doctor or Pharmacy Online pharmacist.
Is it safe to take Beechams Sore Throat Pain Relief Lozenges with other medication?
Speak to your doctor if you are currently taking medication to make sure it's safe to take Beechams Sore Throat Pain Relief. That said, this product probably won't interact with other medicines. You can take these lozenges together with painkillers such as ibuprofen and paracetamol, or alongside cold, flu or cough treatments.
