FAQ
How will Vicks Sinex Decongestant Nasal Spray help me?
Oxymetazoline (the powerful decongestant) actively triggers the blood vessels in your nose to contract, which means only the tiniest amount of the medication absorbs into your bloodstream from the nasal passages. Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray works fairly locally, reducing the chance of any side effects on other body parts.
Can I use Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray long-term?
No. Avoid using Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray long-term, as it includes a preservative called benzalkonium chloride, which causes inflammation of the nasal mucosa, particularly if used over a long period of time. Only use Vicks Sinex for a maximum of seven days.
Why can't I use Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray for more than seven days?
Prolonged use of Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray, e.g. for more than seven days in a row, can exacerbate your nasal congestion, known as 'rebound congestion'.
