  • What causes a sore throat?

    A sore throat is an incredibly common issue, usually caused by viral illnesses such as heavy colds and influenza (the flu) or sometimes by a bacterial infection. Moreover, they can be triggered by tonsillitis, laryngitis or glandular fever. Throat pain typically improves by itself and throat medications like Strepsils Original Lozenges can help treat the pain.     Strepsils Original Lozenges soothe and calm throat and mouth illnesses thanks to two antiseptic ingredients - amylmetacresol and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, which kill the infection-causing bacteria.

  • How many Strepsils can I have per day?

    Adults and children aged six and above can suck up to 12 lozenges in 24 hours - that's one every two to three hours. If you see no improvement after three days of taking Strepsils Original Lozenges, speak to your GP or one of our pharmacists.

Side Effects

Like all medications, Strepsils Original Lozenges may cause side effects. If you notice any burning, itching or discomfort in your mouth, cease using and speak to your GP or a Pharmacy Online pharmacist.
