The clear, dark brown liquid is formulated with glycerol and sucrose, which work together to provide a shielding film on your throat, easing dryness and inflammation. Glycerol's soothing effects plus the demulcent action of sucrose help to suppress the cough reflex, offering relief for painful throats. It's suitable for children and adults aged one and over and contains glycerol and sucrose.

What are the active ingredients in this medication?
This cough mixture contains the active ingredients glycerol and sucrose. It also contains liquorice, propylene glycol, cough syrup 513277 flavours, demineralised liquid sugar, citric acid monohydrate, sodium benzoate (E211), black treacle, purified water, and liquid glucose.
Can my child take this cough medicine?
Yes, so long as they're aged one or above. The dosage for children aged between one and five is one 5 ml spoonful. If they're aged 12 or over, they need to take two 5 ml spoonfuls. Space out the dose three to four times within 24 hours. Avoid taking a double dose and never exceed the stated dose. If your child's symptoms persist, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
