Overview

Dry skin conditions such as eczema or dermatitis can result in itching, redness, and cracked skin. Regular soaps containing harsh chemicals can often make these symptoms worse, which is why Dermol 600 Bath Emollient has created a bath emollient that soothes itching and prevents flare-ups.

Dermol 600 bath emollient contains two types of active ingredients, benzalkonium chloride (an antimicrobial that helps to combat bacteria present on the skin) and liquid paraffin and isopropyl (emollients that help to hydrate and protect your skin). These ingredients work together to form a protective barrier over your skin, promoting healing underneath. When used regularly, you'll feel your skin softness and flexibility begin to return and irritation will fade away.

  • Directions

    For maximum benefit, add Dermol 600 Bath Emollient to your bath water every time you have a bath.

    For adults, older children and the elderly:

    • Avoid rubbing with the towel because this makes dry skin conditions worse.
    • Pat the skin dry with a soft towel.
    • Soak for 5 to 10 minutes.
    • Get into the bath and cover the affected areas of skin with the bath water.
    • Add up to 30 ml (11⁄2 capfuls) to a normal sized bath filled with warm water.
    • Shake the bottle before use.

    For babies and younger children:

    • Shake the bottle before use.
    • Add up to 15 ml (3⁄4 of a capful) to a small bath of warm water or wash basin.
    • Submerge the affected areas of skin.
    • Soak for 5 to 10 minutes.
    • Alternatively, repeatedly sponge the water over the affected skin areas.
    • Pat the skin dry with a soft towel.

    Avoid rubbing with the towel because this makes dry skin conditions worse.

    It is not necessary to use soap for additional cleansing. If desired, however, a fragrance-free soap substitute should be used. This type of product does not foam or lather.

Side Effects

As with all medications, Dermol 600 bath emollient may have side effects, but most people won't experience them. Very rarely, Dermol 600 bath emollient may trigger local skin reactions, such as:

  • Redness
  • Itching
