Joy-rides tablets are a medicine that is used to prevent travel sickness. It contains the active ingredient hyoscine hydrobromide, which works to block signals reaching the brain to initiate a nauseous response. With this response, a person can travel by car, train, boat or plane comfortably and without disruption due to sickness.

Can I give my child Joy-rides tablets? It is safe to give a child over the age of 3 years Joy-rides. Children under the age of 3 years should consult a GP with their parent/guardian. 

How many doses can I safely take of Joy-rides? If the first initial dose isnt effective, you can retake another dosage after 6 hours of the first initial dose. Please read the enclosed leaflet for safe dosages depending on your age. 

Side Effects

If you suffer from an intolerance to hyoscine hydrobromide, the active ingredient in Joy-rides, or suffer an allergic reaction then you should stop taking them. Allergic type symptoms can include fever, rash, itchiness, diffculty breathing, faster heart rate, swelling and hives.

The most common side effect in a child taking Joy-rides may be drowsiness, so it is important a child is not left unattended if they have taken a dose.
