FAQ
What is Orlos 60mg?
Orlos weight loss capsules are a medicine that can be taken regularly to help you lose weight alongside a reduced-calorie, lower-fat diet. It contains the active ingredient orlistat. Orlos weight loss capsules are suitable for people over 18 years old who are overweight and have a BMI of 28 or above.
For every 2kg you lose from dieting alone, Orlos weight loss capsules can help you lose up to 1kg more.
How do I take Orlos weight loss capsules?
Before starting Orlos weight loss capsules, you should decide ahead of time which day to start the capsules. This gives you a chance to start to reduce your calorie and fat intake before taking the capsules. Doing so allows your body to have a few days to adjust to the new calorie-controlled diet.
The usual dose of Orlos is one capsule three times a day with meals. You can take Orlos before, during, or up to one hour after each meal. There is no need to take a dose of Orlos if you miss a meal or eat a meal containing no fat.
Orlos should not be taken for more than 6 months. If you do not lose weight after taking the tablets for 12 weeks, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
How does Orlos work?
The active ingredient is designed to specifically target fat in your digestive system. It blocks enzymes in your digestive system from breaking down and absorbing the fat that you eat. This means that instead of being absorbed into the body, the fat passes through your digestive system and passes out with your stools. Research suggests around a third to a quarter of the fat you eat with Orlos will not be absorbed by the body.
Studies estimate that orlistat stops around a third of the fat you eat from being absorbed by the body. Combined with healthy eating and an exercise program, this can be an effective weight loss plan. Orlos can reduce the absorption of certain vitamins, so you should take a multivitamin when using this medicine.
