Fucidin H cream is a dual action treatment for skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis. It is of particular therapeutic use if the skin has become broken and infected. Fucidin H cream contains two active ingredients that work together to give your skin relief of symptoms:
·      Fusidic acid – this is an antibacterial agent that prevents the growth of bacteria and kills any that is currently present
·      Hydrocortisone – this is a mild steroid that causes an immune response in the body to reduce discomfort, swelling and inflammation
Fucidin H cream can be applied two or three times a day depending on the requirements of the patient and the recommendation from our doctor.

How long should I treat my eczema that has become infected?
It is typically recommended that Fucidin H cream should be used for 7-10 days. Your infection should have cleared up in this time. If not, we recommend you speak to your GP for further advice.
Can I use Fucidin H cream for other skin conditions such as burns and insect bites?
Although Fucidin H may be prescribed for other skin conditions under doctors supervision, we would not prescribe this particular product for anything else other than bacterial infections associated with eczema and psoriasis.

Side Effects

Fucidin H cream may cause local skin irritation, redness, inflammation, burning, itching and possible swelling. Very rarely Fucidin H cream may cause worsening of symptoms and you should stop using the cream and seek further advice.
