    Fucidin H cream is a dual-action cream for treating infections associated with eczema and psoriasis. This mild topical corticosteroid/antibiotic cream is particularly effective if your skin is broken and infected and works to stop bacteria from entering cracked skin, eliminating irritation and swelling. Fucidin H cream is suitable for most adults and children and contains the active ingredients hydrocortisone (a steroid) and fusidic acid (an antibiotic).

Fucidin H cream is a dual-action treatment for skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis. It is of particular therapeutic use if the skin has become broken and infected. Fucidin H cream contains two active ingredients that work together to give your skin relief of symptoms:

  • Fusidic acid – this is an antibacterial agent that prevents the growth of bacteria and kills any that are currently present.
  • Hydrocortisone – this is a mild steroid that causes an immune response in the body to reduce discomfort, swelling, and inflammation.

Fucidin H cream can be applied two or three times a day depending on the requirements of the patient and the recommendation from our doctor.

  • How long should I use Fucidin H cream to treat my eczema that has become infected?

    It is typically recommended that Fucidin H cream should be used for 7-10 days, as it contains active ingredients. Your infection should have cleared up at this time. If not, we recommend you speak to your GP for further advice.

  • Can I use Fucidin H cream for other skin conditions such as burns and insect bites?

    Although Fucidin H cream may be prescribed for other skin conditions under a doctor's supervision, we would not prescribe Fucidin H cream for anything else other than bacterial infections associated with eczema and psoriasis.

Side Effects

Fucidin H cream may cause local skin irritation, redness, inflammation, burning, itching, and possible swelling. Very rarely, Fucidin H cream may cause worsening of symptoms and you should stop using the cream and seek further advice.
