What is Beconase nasal spray used for?

Beclometasone is used to treat allergic rhinitis symptoms of hayfever and seasonal allergies, including runny nose, itchy nose, sneezing, and blocked nose.

Beconase contains the active ingredient beclomethasone dipropionate, which belongs to the family of medicines called steroids. Beconase nasal spray contains 50 micrograms of this corticosteroid.

How long does it take for Beclometasone to take effect and relieve allergy symptoms?

Beclometasone does not provide immediate relief. In most cases, it will take 2-3 days before the medicine reaches its full effect.

However, when it does begin to take effect, it delivers relief from allergy symptoms by helping to reduce swelling and inflammation caused by allergens that trigger an immune response.

Beconase hayfever relief gets to work right where the problems stem from - in the nose. The corticosteroid brings relief to the allergic reaction, decreasing the response from the immune system, treating hayfever.

How do I use Beclometasone Nasal Spray?

Beconase is an adult nasal spray. The usual starting dose for adults (over the age of 18) is two sprays into each nostril twice daily to control symptoms.

Do not use more than 8 sprays in a 24 hour period.

While you will experience some relief from hay fever symptoms immediately, the medicine takes time to build up to full effect. This can take 7-14 days of continuous use to achieve.

Beconase aqueous nasal spray works best when taken regularly.

If you regularly suffer from seasonal allergies, begin to take Beconase nasal spray at least one month before allergy season begins, to make sure the medicine is at its most effective when you need it the most.

How long does the nasal spray last once it has been opened?

Any remaining spray should be discarded after three months of first opening.

Who is Beconase nasal spray not suitable for?

While most adults can use this nasal spray, you might not find it effective at relieving your hayfever symptoms. If that's the case, there are other steroid sprays available from Pharmacy Online you can try.

This adults nasal spray is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. Seek medical advice if you're pregnant or breast feeding before using this medicine.

If you haven't experienced relief from your symptoms after using the spray for 7 days, consult healthcare professional about using other medication.

How to administer Beconase nasal spray

Tilt your head forward slightly and insert the tip of the spray bottle into your nose gently. Administer two sprays into each nostril, twice a day - once in the morning and once at night.

If you have a missed dose, don't double dose, wait until your next dose.
