Calpol Infant Suspension is the liquid version of paracetamol for infants aged between 2 months and 6 years old. It is a medicine that has a variety of uses for young children such as temperature/fever, pain, coughs, and sore throats. The dosage stated on the manufacturer's label is dependent on the child's age.
Like all medicines, Calpol Sugar-Free Infant Suspension Strawberry oral medication may have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. These include:
- Allergic reactions, e.g. swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing, unexplained wheezing, and shortness of breath, which may be accompanied by skin rash or hives
- Becoming unusually tired, unexpected bruising or bleeding, getting more infections, such as colds, than usual
- Very rare cases of serious skin reactions have been reported. Symptoms include: skin reddening, blisters, rash
How can I administer Calpol Infant Suspension Strawberry Flavour to a 3-month-old baby?
We recommend using an oral syringe to deliver the dose to a baby. This should be done gradually, making sure the baby has time to swallow the liquid.
How many times can I give my child a dose of Infant Suspension Strawberry Flavour?
Depending on the child's age, it can be given 3 or 4 times a day in even split doses
