When to Use Difflam Spray for a Sore Throat 30ml?
Difflam Spray is an effective treatment for relieving sore throats and mouth discomfort. It can also reduce inflammation and is best used in the following cases:
- Sore Throats: Including those from a common cold, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis.
- Mouth Ulcers: The spray can also reduce the pain of mouth ulcers.
- Teething or Dental Pain: If you've recently had a dental procedure or are experiencing a toothache, Difflam spray can help reduce discomfort.

Age Restrictions for Difflam Spray for a Sore Throat 30ml
Difflam Spray is suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over. While younger children can potentially use it, it depends on their weight.
When using Difflam Spray or administering it to a child, please follow these instructions:
- Prepare the Spray: If you haven't used the spray in a while or it's a new bottle, prime the pump. Remove the cap, move the nozzle away from the surface, and press the plunger until a fine spray appears.
- Using the Spray: Rotate the nozzle to a horizontal position and place it near the area where you're experiencing pain. Keep the liquid in your mouth for a few seconds, then swallow.
- Dosage: Adults and children can use 4 to 8 puffs every 1.5 to 3 hours, while children aged 6-12 can use up to 4 puffs. If you're treating a younger child, they can have 1 puff per 4kg of their body weight.
Please note that you should see a doctor if your symptoms persist. While Difflam can reduce the pain associated with tonsillitis, you may require antibiotics.
When to Avoid Difflam Spray?
Difflam Spray is generally suitable for localised pain, but there are some cases when you should avoid it. These include:
- Allergies: If you have an allergy or are sensitive to any ingredient in Difflam, please find a suitable alternative.
- Aspirin or NSAID Sensitivity: Benzydamine is an NSAID medicine, which can cause reactions in individuals who are sensitive to anti-inflammatories.
Precautions for Difflam Spray

- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: While you may be able to use Difflam while breastfeeding or pregnant, it's important to ask a pharmacist or your healthcare provider if it's safe first.
