Elleste Solo
Elleste Solo tablets are a HRT (Hormone replacement therapy) designed to increase hormone levels within the body and alleviate the symptoms of menopause, such as insomnia, hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, decreased libido, and vaginal dryness. Elleste solo tablets are suitable for postmenopausal women and contains the active ingredient estradiol hemihydrate (a naturally-produced version of the female hormone oestrogen). Elleste Solo is oestrogen-only HRT. Women who have had a hysterectomy (no womb) can take it on its own every day. If you still have a womb, a separate progestogen should be added for 12-14 days of each cycle to protect the lining of the womb.

Elleste Solo is an oral hormone replacement therapy (HRT) licensed for women going through the menopause (perimenopausal) and women after the menopause (postmenopausal). It contains estradiol only, with no progestogen, so it is oestrogen-only HRT. If you are still having periods, you usually start on the first day of bleeding; otherwise you can start at any time. Elleste Solo 2mg is also licensed to help prevent osteoporosis (thinning bones) in postmenopausal women at high risk of fractures who cannot take other medicines to prevent it.
There is always a risk of side effects with all medications, and hormone replacement therapy such as Elleste Solo tablets are no exception. Some of these can be quite mild and can subside over time. Others are more serious and should be reported to your GP right away if you experience any side effects. There are a few serious side effects associated with taking hormone replacement therapy such as Elleste Solo tablets. Seek medical attention as soon as possible if you experience swelling in the lower leg that is inflamed and hot to touch.
