Evra Patches
The Evra contraceptive patch releases a continuous dose of hormones into your bloodstream via your skin, regulating a woman’s cycle and stops pregnancy. This transdermal patch includes artificial progestogen and oestrogen, which work similarly to combined pills. The only difference is that you only need one Evra patch every week. The Evra patch is suitable for many women of reproductive age, subject to a health check.
- The Evra patch is for female use only
- Used for contraceptive purposes
- Hormonal-based transdermal patch
The Evra contraceptive patch is useful for women who want to prevent pregnancy but do not want to take a pill every day. It can help to reduce heavy periods and pain associated with periods.
The Evra transdermal patch contains a combination of oestrogen and progesterone. It is applied once weekly for three weeks, followed by one patch-free week.
Talk to your doctor if you weigh 90 kg (14 st 2 lb) or more, as Evra may not work as well to prevent pregnancy.
