Jackson's Vapour Rub is a topical ointment that temporarily soothes nasal and chest congestion caused by colds and catarrh. It also alleviates stiff backs, muscular discomfort, sciatica, lower back pain, rheumatic pain and other minor aches and pains. When applied to the skin, the potent, long-lasting vapours penetrate your mouth and nose, relieving coughs for improved breathing. It's suitable for adults and children aged two and above, and contains eucalyptus oil, menthol, camphor, methyl salicylate and terpineol.

Jackson's Rub alleviates blocked noses (congestion), irritation of mucous membranes in your throat and nose (nasal catarrh), coughs and sore throat symptoms caused by colds. Eucalyptus oil relieves catarrh, while camphor calms coughs due to colds.
As with all medicines, Jackson's Vapour Rub may cause side effects, but you may not experience them. If used as per the instructions, the vapour rub will produce a warming effect on your skin. But if you notice any of the following side effects, discontinue the product and consult your GP or Pharmacy Online pharmacist:
- Flushing
- Angry, irritated, red, blistered, sore, cracked or dry skin
- Headache
- Rash on your skin, itchy red wheels (hives)
How does Jackson's Vapour work?
Jackson's Vapour Rub contains five active ingredients which work in harmony to deliver a warming effect on your skin. When you apply the rub to your skin, it releases these soothing vapours that reduce blocked noses (nasal congestion).
Once soaked into your skin, they also ease muscular discomforts such as sciatica, lumbago, muscle stiffness and back ache. Eucalyptus oil and menthol ease congestion, camphor calms coughs, while terpineol and methyl salicylate lessen minor aches.
How do I use Jackson's Chest Rub?
Massage the product onto your chest, back and throat. Avoid wearing tight-fitting bed clothing.
Children aged two and above: Rub a thin layer on the back and chest and apply gently. Avoid wearing tight pyjamas.
How often can I use Jackson's Chest Rub?
For persistent coughs: Use Jackson's Chest Rub no more than three times per day unless your doctor has told you otherwise. Apply sparingly to your throat and chest.
For muscular aches and pains: Rub into the affected area no more than three to four times a day.
What does Jackson's Vapour Rub do?
