Tixylix Toddler Syrup 0.75ml/5ml 100ml is a colour-free and alcohol-free cough syrup used to relieve the symptoms of mild dry or tickly coughs in toddlers aged 3 months to 5 years old. It contains the active ingredient glycerol, which works by lubricating and soothing the throat, making it easier to cough up mucus.

There are known side effects with Tixylix Toddler Syrup. These side effects are generally mild and go away on their own:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Stomach ache
  • Headache

In rare cases, Tixylix Toddler Syrup can cause more serious side effects, such as:

Tixylix Toddler Syrup is not a cure for coughs, but it can help to relieve the symptoms and make your toddler more comfortable. If your toddler's cough does not improve after 5 days of using Tixylix Toddler Syrup, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

What are the ingredients in Tixylix Toddler Syrup?

The ingredients in Tixylix Toddler Syrup are:

  • Active ingredient: Glycerol 0.75ml per 5ml dose.
  • Other ingredients: Liquid maltitol (Lycasin), hydroxyethylcellulose, sodium benzoate (E211), citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, vanilla flavour (contains propylene glycol E1520), blackcurrant flavour (contains propylene glycol E1520), purified water.

Tixylix Toddler Syrup should not be given to toddlers who are allergic to any of the ingredients.

What is the usual dosage for Tixylix Toddler Syrup?

For children aged 3-12 months: one 5ml spoonful.

For children aged 1-5 years: two 5ml spoonfuls.

Administer dose 3 to 4 times daily by mouth as required. Allow 3 to 4 hours between doses.

To give this medicine to your toddler:

  • Shake the bottle of Tixylix Toddler Syrup well.
  • Remove the bottle safety cap from the bottle and place the measuring spoon inside.
  • Fill the measuring spoon to the line marked with the correct dose.

Do not give Tixylix to your toddler for more than 5 days without talking to your doctor or one of our online pharmacy team.

Is Tixylix safe for toddlers?

Yes, Tixylix is generally safe for babies and toddlers aged 3 months to 5 years old. It is a colour-free and alcohol-free cough syrup which soothes and relieves the symptoms of mild dry or tickly coughs.

Do not give to children under 3 months old.

Can a child have Tixylix and Calpol?

Yes, your child can have Tixylix and Calpol at the same time.

  • Tixylix is a cough syrup containing the active ingredient glycerol.
  • Calpol is a pain reliever and fever reducer that contains the active ingredient paracetamol.

These two medications can be used safely together in most cases. However, always talk to your doctor or pharmacist before giving your child any medication.
