    Numark Chesty Cough Expectorant is an oral solution that treats the effects of a chesty cough caused by viral infections like colds and influenza (the flu). Its powerful ingredients include an antihistamine, which soothes cold and flu symptoms by narrowing the blood vessels in your nasal passages. The effective expectorant loosens and thins out mucus trapped in your airway passages. It's suitable for adults and children aged six and above and contains diphenhydramine and ammonium chloride.

Numark Chesty Cough Expectorant mitigates the symptoms of a chesty (productive) cough caused by illnesses such as influenza (the flu) and head colds. It relieves your symptoms by narrowing the blood vessels in your nasal passages and effectively loosening and thinning trapped mucus.

  • What causes chesty coughs?

    A chesty cough is also called a productive cough or mucus cough. Typically, it's caused by an illness like the flu or a heavy cold. Sometimes, it's caused by an allergic reaction. With a chesty cough, you get a build-up of mucus in your airways, which makes you cough to expel the phlegm. 

  • Who can take Numark Chesty Cough Expectorant?

    This chesty cough medicine is suitable for adults and children aged six and over. Avoid taking this medicine if you're intolerant to the ingredients contained in this product. And don't use it if you're taking antidepressants called Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs).

  • How do I take this product?

    Children aged between six and 11: 
    Take one 5 ml spoonful every three to four hours but avoid using it for more than five days. 

    Children aged 12 and over:
    Take two 5 ml spoonfuls (10 ml) as necessary. Do not exceed the stated dose. If your symptoms don't improve, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Side Effects

As with all medicinal products, you may notice side effects, including:

  • Feeling sleepy.
  • A headache.
  • Mouth dryness.
  • Blurry vision.
  • Feeling dizzy.
