Calpol Infant Suspension - SF - 120mg/5ml, 100ml is a sugar-free strawberry-flavoured oral suspension that reduces fever, pain, and discomfort in infants and children between 2 months and 6 years. With the active ingredient of paracetamol, each dose reduces pain and temperature.

Following the dosing instructions is important as Calpol contains paracetamol. The following doses will give your child relief while also keeping them safe:

• Infants 2-3 months: Administer 2.5ml every 4-6 hours, with a maximum of 2 doses in 24 hours.
• Infants 4-11 months: Give 2.5 ml, 4 hours between a second 2.5 ml dose. At most, 4 doses in 24 hours.
• Children 1-2 years: Up to 5ml every 4 hours, with no more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
• Children 2-3 years: Administer 7.5ml every 4 hours, with a maximum of 4 doses in 24 hours.
• Children 3-5 years: Up to 10ml every 4 hours with 4 doses in 24 hours.
• Children 5-6 years: 12.5ml every 4 hours, 4 doses between doses.

DO NOT GIVE CALPOL INFANT TO CHILDREN UNDER 4KG. 

You can give your child the medication for three days. If symptoms persist after that, seeing a healthcare professional is best. While Calpol can relieve symptoms, it won't treat tonsillitis or a severe infection.

It's essential to wait 4 hours between doses and follow the instructions on the leaflet. If you administer too much medicine, consult your doctor immediately. As an oral use medication, it's also important to lock Calpol away and ensure your child can't access it.

If your child is currently taking other medicines and any supplements, it's essential to talk to your doctor. Some medications can interact with each other, causing severe side effects and damage to your child's health.

Children with fructose intolerance should avoid the medicine, and you should consult your doctor if your infant has a history of liver and kidney problems.
