For motion sickness, vomiting or nausea:

• Children over 10 years old and adults: Take 1 tablet the night before a journey. If required, you can take another dose 6-8 hours after the first.

As a short term sedative:

• Children over 10 years old and adults: 1-2 tablets should be taken at night.
• Children 5-10 years old: 1 tablet should be taken at night.

Do not take more than the recommended dose. If your symptoms are not being managed, please refer back to your GP.

Do not drink alcohol while taking promethazine hydrochloride.

This medicine will make you drowsy; do not drive or operate heavy machinery once you take it.

Do not take this medicine if you are within 2 weeks of giving birth.

It is not known whether promethazine passes into breast milk or if it could affect a nursing baby. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor before taking Phenergan Tablets.

If you are taking or have recently taken any other medications, including those obtained without a prescription, it’s essential to consult your GP or pharmacist before using Phenergan Tablets.

Do not take Phenergan if you have used monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) to treat depression within the last two weeks.
