Guaifenesin loosens mucus and eases chesty coughs, while phenylephrine is a decongestant that unblocks sinuses and noses, enabling you to breathe more effortlessly. It's suitable for adults and children aged 16 and over and contains paracetamol, guaifenesin, and phenylephrine hydrochloride.

Even though it contains guaifenesin, which can help loosen phlegm in your chest, it isn't specifically designed as a cough suppressant. How often can you take Beechams All-in-One Liquid?
You can take Beechams All-in-One Liquid every four hours as required but do not take this product for more than five days unless advised by your GP. Take orally (applies to adults and children aged 16 or above):
- Pour the liquid into a measuring cup up to the 20ml mark.
- Avoid taking more than every four hours.
If you see no improvement in your symptoms, visit your GP. Do not drink alcohol with this product.
Side Effects
This medication may induce side effects, including:
- Allergic-type reactions (swelling of the facial features, skin itchiness, rashes, rapid heart rate or breathing problems).
- Nausea.
- Vomiting.
