Buy Wegovy Online UK

Wegovy will be available in mid 2022, to aid weight loss. Like the Saxenda weight loss pen it is an injection that can be used to suppress your appetite and therefore aid in your weight loss journey. The only difference between Saxenda and Wegovy is that Saxenda is once daily dosing and Wegovy is a once weekly dosing.

Wegovy Reviews

Wegovy’s initial release is highly anticipated in the UK; with it gaining huge praise in reviews from the media and clinical trials. The Financial review reports it is 'flying off the shelves' due to its ability to reduce appetite in patients.

The pandemic may have played a role in motivating people to lose weight amid evidence that carrying extra pounds can worsen the outcome for Covid-19 sufferers, said Chief Executive Officer Lars Fruergaard Jorgensen. A high demand is expected with positive reviews from launching in the US.

How do I get Wegovy in the UK?

Wegovy is not yet licensed for sale in the UK, however PharmacyOnline.co.uk will be working with the pharmaceutical provider to treat patients with the drug once it is fully approved. We anticipate it will be available in the summer of 2022.

Our current range of weight loss programmes can be found here, which are effective for 85% of patients prescribed.

Wegovy vs Saxenda

We have had great experience with Saxenda over the past 7 years, but Saxenda requires an injection every day. Further, compared to the Saxenda, the Wegovy offers more than 50% greater weight loss on average, with the typical patient losing 15% of their body weight (34 pounds). Many even lose 20% – or more! This is significantly more potent than all of the currently available weight loss medications.

Orlistat vs Wegovy

Orlistat comes in a capsule unlike Wegovy or Saxenda and works in an entirely different way. Orlistat reduces the fat absorbed from meals by about 30% and is taken after each main meal. While this is favourable for those afraid of injections, it can cause more unfavourable side effects and is inconvenient with a requirement to be taken after each meal rather than once a week.

What is Wegovy used for and how does it work?

Wegovy is a weight loss drug and can help and one of the most effective prescription drugs to help users shed a percentage of their body weight. In the UK, one in four adults struggle with obesity, but Wegovy enables people to reduce their appetite, therefore consuming less food.

Wegovy medication(semaglutide) is a once-weekly injection used to aid weight loss. It is specifically used for chronic weight management in adults with an initial body mass index (BMI) of:

30 kg/m2 or greater (obesity) or
27 kg/m2 or greater (overweight) in the presence of at least one weight-related comorbid condition, such as hypertension (high blood pressure), type 2 diabetes or dyslipidemia.
Wegovy is an add-on to a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Wegovy works by helping to regulate food intake and appetite

Wegovy is a human glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist (GLP-1 analog) - it mimics the action of GLP-1 produced naturally by the gut, and to a lesser extent the pancreas and nervous system.

GLP-1 targets areas of the brain that help to regulate appetite, especially after eating. It also slows how quickly the stomach empties, which makes you feel fuller for longer. In addition to this, Wegovy enhances the production of insulin.

Wegovy is a prescription only medication which will be available through our prescribing service.

Does The Wegovy Injection Work?

When it comes to weight loss treatments, few are approved by the FDA due to their potential complications - but Wegovy has excellent reviews and has performed well in studies. After a phase 3 study showed postitive results, the FDA approved it for users with an obese body mass index (BMI).

In a 68 week trial, 48% of participants lost more than 15% of their initial body weight, which equates to 35 lbs across all participants. An impressive 86% of people lost more than 5% of their baseline body weight, while 66% of participants lost 10% or more.

The people given a placebo lost an average of 6lbs, showing that this new weight loss drug offers many benefits.

Wegovy is an injectable prescription medication for adults with obesity (BMI ≥30) or overweight (excess weight) (BMI ≥27) who also have weight-related medical problems used with a reduced-calorie meal plan and increased physical activity.

Will the NHS prescribe Wegovy?

As part of Boris Johnson's weight management program, patients in the UK will use Wegovy as long as they meet the requirements. The current guidance suggests a patient must have a BMI of at least 30, but this could change in the future, and people with a lower BMI might be able to use it. The NHS has classed wegovy as a gamechanger drug for treating obesity as it cuts weight by 20%.

How much will Wegovy cost?

As Wegovy won't be introduced in the UK until mid-2022, there's a grey area to the potential costs. The current price list suggests a price of around £73.25 for four pre-filled pens, and they will be available on prescription. The savings will likely be more than in the USA or the amount you'd spend for over the counter drugs.

How long will it take patients with obesity to lose weight?

As with most effective weight loss medications, people respond to Wegovy differently. While some might lose weight immediately, others will notice the effects as their dosage raises. You should maintain a healthy diet, with plenty of fruits, vegetables and regular exercise.

Why are people more interested in Wegovy as a treatment option than Saxenda?

As mentioned above, Saxenda is a weight loss injection that users must use every day, which can be inconvenient. Wegovy is a weekly injection, so if you're not a fan of needles or have a busy life, it can be the ideal solution.

Further to this benefit, Wegovy also offers a higher weight loss percentage, and it has excellent feedback from the healthcare community.

Can I take Wegovy weight loss with food?

You can take Wegovy with or without food.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss an injection, but your next dose is at least three days away, you can take the injection. However, if it's two days or less until your next injection, we recommend you skip the missed injection and carry on as usual.

You should also report to a healthcare professional if you miss two weeks of injections.

Why take Wegovy?

Obesity is a severe condition, and the availability of convenience foods, takeaway apps and busy lifestyles are all contributors to the issue. However, obesity can also result in a weight-related condition, including diabetes, arthritis, and cardiovascular disease.

With so many weight-related comorbidity problems, Wegovy is a beneficial new treatment option to support you in your weight loss attempts.

Will there be supply shortages?

There's no doubt that this weight loss drug will be highly popular when it becomes available for prescription in the UK, but the team here at Pharmacy Online will do our best to maintain supply and demand for all of our customers.

Can I take Wegovy while pregnant?

It is not known whether Wegovy can affect your unborn baby, so we'd recommend avoiding it while pregnant. Also, weight loss isn't recommended in general while you're pregnant, as the baby needs nutrients.
