    Difflam Mint Flavour Lozenges treat mouth and throat conditions such as sore throats or mouth ulcers caused by a virus such as the flu or a cold. Sometimes, throat irritation can be caused by smoking or, even more infrequently, by bacteria in the throat. They help ease inflammation and discomfort in the throat. Difflam Mint Flavour Lozenges are suitable for adults and children aged six years and over and contain the active ingredient benzydamine hydrochloride (a type of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication).

  • How do I use Difflam Mint Flavour Lozenges?

    Take one Difflam Lozenge up to three times daily.

    • Dryness of the throat
    • Mouth redness

    • Smelly breath (halitosis)

    If a child experiences a sore throat, their throat discomfort will be accompanied by a fever, and they will appear more tired than usual.

Side Effects

Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people): 

  • Dry or burning sensation in your mouth. Should this occur, drink a glass of water to lessen the effect. 

Extremely rare (may concern up to 1 in every 10,000 people):

  • Sudden throat, mouth or mucous membrane swelling (angioedema).
  • Problems breathing (laryngospasm). 

Unknown (commonness can't be calculated from the data obtainable): 

  • Hypersensitivity (allergic reaction).
  • Local sensitivity loss of the oral mucosa (hypoaesthesia oral).
  • Severe allergic response (anaphylactic shock), which includes symptoms such as chest pain, breathing problems, chest tightness, and/or feeling faint/dizzy.
  • Lip, face, tongue and/or throat swelling
  • Raised bumps on the skin or intense itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue and /or throat, which may be deadly.
