    No, these lozenges don't get rid of tonsillitis, however they can help alleviate pain and inflammation associated with the illness. If you have viral tonsillitis, it will usually clear up in three to four days. However, if your tonsillitis is bacterial, you will need to visit your doctor, as they may need to prescribe antibiotics.

  • Breathing difficulties (laryngospasm).
