It's suitable for adults and children aged 12 plus, and contains the active ingredient oxymetazoline hydrochloride.

Vicks Sinex Decongestant Nasal Spray decongests a blocked nose. It contains a medicine which belongs to a family of medications known as decongestants. The active ingredient oxymetazoline constricts blood flow to the sinuses, decreasing inflammation and clearing congestion. Oxymetazoline also lessens mucus production, relieving blocked nose symptoms.

Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray works fairly locally, reducing the chance of any side effects on other body parts.

  • Can I use Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray long-term?

    No. Avoid using Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray long-term, as it includes a preservative called benzalkonium chloride, which causes inflammation of the nasal mucosa, particularly if used over a long period of time. Only use Vicks Sinex for a maximum of seven days.

  • Why can't I use Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray for more than seven days?

    Prolonged use of Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray, e.g. for more than seven days in a row, can exacerbate your nasal congestion, known as 'rebound congestion'.
