    Benylin Mucus Cough Night medicine provides overnight relief from chesty coughing and associated congestion symptoms. It includes an antihistamine that soothes coughing and dry secretions in the chest and nose and promotes restful sleep. It also contains an expectorant that loosens phlegm in the lungs, making it easier to cough up. It also eases breathing by reducing congestive symptoms. It's suitable for adults and children aged 12 and above and contains diphenhydramine hydrochloride, guaifenesin and levomenthol.

Benylin Mucus Cough Night medicine is a cough syrup containing guaifenesin, diphenhydramine hydrochloride, and levomenthol to relieve chest mucus (chest congestion). These active ingredients loosen and thin out chest mucus enabling the body to eliminate it when you cough. This decreases that painful, heavy feeling in your chest, improving your sleep.

  • Does Benylin Mucus Cough Night syrup work?

    Yes. Its three active ingredients get to work rapidly. Guaifenesin, a cough expectorant, increases fluid volume in your airways, helping loosen and thin out the mucus in your airway passages so it's easier to cough up. Levomenthol delivers a gentle cooling sensation and has decongestant properties, relieving coughing and lessening lung congestion. Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, helps reduce dry, hardened mucus in the nose and chest as well as coughing symptoms.

  • How much of Benylin Mucus Cough Night syrup can I take?

    Adults and children aged 12 or above: Swallow 2 x 5 ml spoonfuls when you go to bed, then 2 x 5 ml spoonfuls every 6 hours whenever you need relief.

    OR

    Swallow 2 x 5 ml spoonfuls four times a day.

    Avoid exceeding four doses (one dose is 2 x 5 ml spoonfuls) in one day.

  • Does Benylin Mucus Cough Night medicine cause drowsiness?

    Yes, this medication may cause drowsiness as it contains an antihistamine. If you notice this effect, avoid operating machinery or driving. Do not consume alcohol when taking Benylin Mucus Cough Night syrup. 

Side Effects

If you experience any side effects when taking Benylin Mucus Cough Night syrup, in most cases, they are minor. 

Even though these side effects are mentioned below, chances are, you won't experience any of them:
