FAQ

  • How do I take Benylin Chesty Cough & Cold Tablets?

Adults, the elderly, and children aged 12 and over:

Swallow two tablets with water every four hours. Avoid exceeding more than eight tablets in 24 hours. Unsuitable for children below 12 years old. If your symptoms continue or worsen, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

  • What ingredients does Benylin Chesty Cough & Cold Tablets contain?

Benylin Chesty Cough & Cold Tablets contain three active ingredients, including guaifenesin, paracetamol, and phenylephrine. Guaifenesin, an expectorant, helps thin out and reduce phlegm (mucus), while paracetamol combats pain. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant, which alleviates swelling in your nasal passages.

  • What's a chesty cough?

When phlegm (mucus) accumulates in your lungs and on the chest, this causes a chesty cough, meaning you cough up the phlegm to eliminate the excess mucus. Chesty coughs typically originate from your sinuses, known as catarrh, or from the bronchioles in your lungs.
