How to Use Sumatriptan Tablets?
If you’re experiencing an acute migraine headache, you can use Supatriptan tablets to relieve the symptoms. Please follow the instructions carefully when treating a migraine:
- Onset: Sumatriptan is most effective when taken as soon as your migraine begins; however, it can also be effective later on. If you experience auras, you should wait to take the tablet until the headache actually starts.
- Swallow: Take the Sumatriptan tablet whole with water, unless the tablet has a score line that allows you to break it in half. You should never crush Sumatriptan tablets.
- Dosage: Sumatriptan tablets are available in 25 mg, 50 mg, or 100 mg doses. Your doctor or pharmacist will help you determine the right dosage for you. Once you take the initial dose, you can take a second one if your symptoms return two hours after the original dose. You shouldn’t exceed 200 mg a day, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
